Here is an article that is good news two fold:
1. Mad Max 4
2. Not animated- live action!

The article counters what was reported earlier, Mad Max 4 being animated.
August 1, 2:32 AMJeremy Renner Could Be Your New Mad Max
Who is Jeremy Renner, you ask? In case you don't recognize him from the photo to the left, Renner is a highly talented actor who can be seen in the recent, but amazing, The Hurt Locker. He also made notable appearances in 28 Weeks Later, Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and S.W.A.T.
AICN received this scoop from an interview Renner did. When asked what was next for him, he replied "I'm also fighting to do the new Mad Max film with George Miller. That might be next summer. I'm screen-testing and meeting George Miller."
For those of you unaware, George Miller is gearing up a Mad Max 4 to start shooting next summer. Unfortunately, Mel Gibson will not be returning as Max Rockatansky, so Miller is looking to cast a young replacement to take on the titular role. In regards to why Gibson won't be returning, Miller had this to say:
"It won't be Mel. He was 21 when he made the first one, now he's a lot older and his passion is for filmmaking and directing. I don't think he is into acting and I don't think he would be interested in being involved at all."
Frankly, this is very exciting news. Jeremy Renner would make for an amazing replacement for Gibson as Max. He has the talent, and he has the looks. However, it is wise to not that he is probably one of dozens of other actors screen testing and auditioning for the role. Let's just keep our fingers crossed on this one.

Renner was pretty good in 28 Weeks Later. So I'm hoping this comes together.
